What are the active ingredients for the base formula? - Euphrasia HPUS 5x: Also known as Eyebright, it is indicated for conjunctival and corneal edema. Symptoms include photophobia, redness, dryness, lachrymation and burning of the lid margin. Eyebright is often referred to as a tonic for the eyes.
- Alumina HPUS 10x: Indicated for Dryness of the eyes and other mucous membranes. “Sjogrens.”
- Agglutination in the morning on waking, with burning upon opening eyes. Absent of subjective dry eye symptoms.
- Arsenicum album HPUS 12x: Indicated for dryness with photophobia and burning(6). Also for inflammation and ulceration(5).
- Nux moschata HPUS 6x: Nux m. is one of the main remedies indicated for the treatment of Sjogrens’ Syndrome (7). Dryness associated with difficulty opening the lids (2).
- Zincum metalicum HPUS 10x: Indicated for extreme dryness, irritation and burning with excessive tearing. Especially indicated for people who’s eyes always seem to be affected by the environment(2).
Additional active Ingredients for Women? Pulsatilla HPUS 8x: is indicated for dry eyes with thick discharges worse in a warm room. Often associated with menopause or menstrual abnormalities. (clark) Sepia HPUS 8x: Is indicated for dryness (allen) associated with weakness of the eye and eyelids (kent), Dry eye which develops after menopause or hormonal imbalance.
What are the inactive ingredients? Sterile water, Sodium Chloride (salt for isotonicity to tears), Citrates (pH balancer), Polysorbate-80 (0.4% as a very light lubricant with preservative qualities).
Questions and Answers:
Q- “How often can I use these drops?”
A- As often as necessary. In fact you should let your symptoms be your guide. Since these drops stimulate your body’s own ability to moisturize, you should use them again right when you first notice the symptoms returning.
Q- “Why do you have different formulas for Women and for Men?”
A- Women experience dry eyes more often than men and often times it is associated with hormone fluctuation and menopause. For this reason we add to the base formula, homeopathic Sepia and Pulsitilla - the most common dryness remedies associated with hormone imbalance.
Sterilization Information
The drops are sterile filled in an ISO 9000 facility. They are pH balanced between 6.8 & 7.2. They are buffered with citrates. Polysorbate 80 is at the minimal amount of .04% as a lubricant. They are preservative free. Polysorbate 80 does have preservative and stability qualities (but is not classified as a preservative) so the the drops can last nine months to a year after opening as long as they are not contaminated, such as would occur if the dropper tip contacts the eye/lid.

Homeopathic medicine can be used without danger because it is not toxic and has no known side effects. Homeopathic remedies have an unlimited shelf life. Homeopathic remedies are made from plants such as the Dandelion, some animal substances such as the venom of the bee, and different active and naturally occurring substances such as Mother of Pearl, beneficial metals such as iron and magnesium salts, and in general from substances that have a known, curative effect. A special process called “potentizing” enhances the curative effect of these different substances. It consists of diluting the original substance in steps, to reduce any potential toxicity, and by shaking the dilution after every diluting step in order to enhance its action as a remedy.
